It's been a wonderful year for Berghutte Ski Club in 2009.
In July, Team Berg Junior 2009 created Thredbo history by being the first club ever to have wrestled the coveted
Lloyd Hughes Trophy from the mighty Ski Club of Australia's trophy cabinet. And in comprehensive fashion with an outright win of the 2009 Thredbo Junior Interclub Race, a first in the twenty five years the event has been run.Coupled with the return to Berg of the
Berghutte Ski Club Trophy for Fastest Team 11yrs and Under, and the
Silver Brumby Trophy for Fastest Team 12yrs - 14yrs, and the
Christiania Cup for fastest Team 15yrs - 18yrsTeam Berg Junior 2009 are now truely Thredbo legends.
With the Juniors setting the benchmark, the senior Team Berg 2009 continued Berg's run of successes winning for another "first time ever" the Val Parcell Memorial Trophy
in the Berghutte v Silver Brumby Challenge. This trophy is now pride and place in Berg's dinning room and compliments our own two club trophies -
the Joe Manka Memorial and Berg Cup.It did not stopped there either, with Team Berg 2009 winning bronze at the 2009 Thredbo Interclub Race and another "first time ever" win of the
Allsop Cup for Fastest Club under 400 members, and our old favourite, the
Kosciusko Alpine Club Cup for Fastest Team on Handicap.Together, all the newly aquired furniture makes for a rather impressive collection of memories and achievements to look back upon for Berghutte's members in years to come.
